Bahamas Out Island Press Releases
Below are recent press releases about The Bahamas Out Islands, its hotels and resorts, and its ongoing list of events.
THE Ministry of Tourism's plans to develop an electronic booking engine for all Bahamian hotel accommodation have been lauded as "the most significant piece of infrastructure for the tourism sector for a long time", the minister of tourism and aviation describing it as key to converting "latent demand" for this nation into reality.
Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace said that even without promotional and marketing campaigns worldwide demand for a Bahamian vacation was strong, but without a universal booking engine that enabled potential visitors to reserve their airline tickets and rooms from anywhere in the world, at any time, those prospects would not become true customers.
Describing the creation of "an electronic booking engine for all the accommodations in the Bahamas" as one of the key tourism innovations, Mr Vanderpool-Wallace said his ministry was set to have conversations on the project within the next 10 days.
